The first person is H.E. Ato Mekonnen Habte Wold.
He was the older brother of Prime Minister Aklilou Habte Wold.
At different times he held the Ministries of Interior, Finance, Commerce & Industry, Information.
Prior to the Italian invasion he was e prime mover of the national mobilization. After the liberation as Minister of Commerce & Industry he built the Ethiopian business community that was mostly dominated by foreign merchants. He also give incentive to domestic cottage industry, some of you may remember the neon sign on the Development Bank that said ” TITH TIKELU FITELU” and the cottage industry center. He create the Ager Fikir Mehaber, where many literary and art works developed. As one of the highest official of the government his accomplishments are many to list here.
He was a great patriot, a great human being, and indefatigable worker.

Was a noble Ethiopian Lady who during the Italian occupation was one of the leaders of the underground patriotic movement that smuggled arms and information to the Patriot Forces. An activity that she performed throughout that sad period at the risk of her life.
She was a highly respect person that carried with honor the superb heroic traditions of Ethiopian Womanhood.
