Having a strong united purposeful opposition is essential for Ethiopia to practice true democratic governance. Everybody knows this.
The opposition in Ethiopia is doing its best by putting their lives on the line. It is hard to criticize them from afar.
The opposition in diaspora is living in the safety of democratic nations. There is no excuse for failing to form a unity in order to support those who are on the ground in Ethiopia. But it is enough to talk about the past. So there is no need bashing the opposition in Diaspora either. Lets look forward…
Opposition in Diaspora: Call for Annual All Ethiopian Oppositions Conference
We do it for soccer. We come together yearly to celebrate sports as Ethiopians. How come all oppositions in Diaspora couldn’t come together once a year to discuss on matters of Ethiopia to create a common platform in unison? Why not start now?
The oppositions have spent too much time analyzing and criticizing the government. It is time to do self-evaluation now. You have given deaf ear to the public’s cry for unity. If you cannot agree on a platform to challenge the current government as a united front, it seems: (1) you don’t have a real case against the government that galvanize all; or (2) you are just motivated by hate and you want the government to go no matter what; or (3) you are just driven to assume power by personal ambition regardless of the merit.
Government: Call for National Reconciliation
It is long over due.
The government being in power for multiple decades, it is time to show maturity and confidence by reaching out to the opposition through unilateral gesture of good will. Imagine declaring a time of “Jubilee” by freeing all political prisoners. How about you introduce the tone of winning together in Ethiopia by championing national reconciliation?
You are the government now. Don’t take it for granted. Time changes and if you don’t change accordingly – you become history. Be prepared to be the match when the opposition comes united. Instead of relying on brute force to stay in power, it is wise to lead by excelling in good governance. Force can only works for a time and brings disaster later for sure. It is wise to consider winning together and adopt reconciliation for Ethiopia anew. That is the true test of your greatness.

Are you joking the government to show maturity, which government you are talking. The senseless Agazi dictators who are fighting to keep themselves on power. Believe me the pressure is mounting and they started fracturing from inside and what we need is pressure from all sides. armed struggle, peaceful ones from inside the country and outside. They have no support, their hodam supporters are fleeing like flies. Dear Dr. Z this is not time to appeal, that time is gone long time ago. Blood was shed for the last 23 years and you are asking the brutal dictators to have confidence and maturity. Dear Dr. history is a lesson. The Mengistu junta dictator did not have an open hand, it simply failed with all side pressures and mostly inside its own structure. The time is nearing for the TPLF dictators to crumble. WE all have to work hard individually and in group. Dear Dr. Z, please use your time to write to your US senators about the brutality of the government and ask them to support the Ethiopian people instead of the current dictators. if you do this simple act, you will feel better than telling the dictators to mature.
Well, this time Ethiopia shall be free and the voiceless shall get their voice heard! In the new democratic Ethiopia, it would be possible to speak one´s mind without fear of persecution.
What is hoped is that the age old tendency of the different forces (stratas) of the opposition (after having ousted woyane with their united effort), would not go to pieces during the scramble for power. I really do wish real, honest, democratic processes could take place.

The riffraff Agazi dictators who are fighting to keep themselves on power and killing innocent school students who are telling them that they are in a wrong track are becoming mad bitch. The very reason is that they are currently becoming desperate as their downfall is alarming them so as to recall time and again their ever barbaric inseparable behavior of them that they are accustomed to thinking that they would stay in power. They passed a solid of 23 years of period telling false statements including the media itself. In this existing truth how the Dr. dares to tell the valueless reconciliation he said is valuable. It is non-sense especially for Oromos badly seeking independence. Please, those Oromos Organized in different names, come together in a single umbrella including OPDO so that you all benefited Oromo people suffering long lasting colonization by the uncivilized Habeshas who are not better than Oromos in any standard except collecting armaments from overseas winning the opportunities they found being along with white people. In Particular at this moment OPDOs have no more obedience from TPLF as it starts to be fractured into groups and even TPLF would no longer trust any of the member of them and free them as before to use the advantages that used to tie them to TPLF. Believe it; the independence/freedom of Oromo nation is straight forward and inevitable. However, collecting in a single umbrella has particular advantage of hastening the realization of the planned independence.For interdependence blood has been sacrificed for years and this will be more intensified as TPLF’s pressure grows from time to time.
